Horschel opened its doors in January 2020 in the old town of Görlitz and is a restaurant that combines high quality regional and seasonal ingredients with a modern cuisine.The restaurant is located on the first floor of the hotel with a direct view of the Untermarkt.
It was set up by Amsterdam gastronomer Bas Dankers, who combines international flair with local produce and recipes.

For 16,50€ per person we offer our hotel guests a rich breakfast buffet. You are also welcome to enjoy our breakfast if you do not stay in our house, then we charge 22,50€ per person.

Breakfast is served from Monday to Friday from 07.00 – 10.00. On weekends (Sat+Sun) from 08.00 – 11.00 o’clock. We ask for prior registration.

The Emmerich Hotel has a new tenant since 2020: Mrs. Horschel is moving into Emmerich‘s old town palace, almost 500 years after the love drama that sparked a scandal in Görlitz. Emmerich did not want to marry Horschel when the two seemed to be expecting a child. Instead, he made a pilgrimage to Jerusalem and repented. Unfortunately, not much is known about Benigna Horschel‘s further life. Perhaps behind a brick still rests a hidden casket with love letters of the two. In any case, the story of Horschel and Emmerich is being rewritten in our restaurant. With imagination and a sense of taste.
